    In aluminum manufacturing, a single coil can weigh anywhere from several tons to over thirty tons. Traditional manual handling using forklifts or overhead cranes often leads to low efficiency, safety risks, and docking difficulties across critical processes such as melting, hot rolling, cold rolling, and annealing.

    To address these challenges, XGEN Robot has developed a turnkey green smart factory solution tailored specifically for the aluminum industry — integrating an intelligent ASRS (Automated Storage & Retrieval System), smart material handling, and a digital control platform.

    From Manual Transport to Fully Unmanned Heavy-Load Handling

    Operating under extreme conditions — high temperature, high humidity, and heavy loads — XGEN Robot’s self-developed heavy-duty vehicles overcome international ultra-heavy-load challenges, enabling fully automated pickup, transport, and temporary storage of 30-ton aluminum coils.

    This complete logistics equipment system satisfies the demanding requirements of production buffering, coil transport, and high-density storage, while ensuring that aluminum coils maintain proper temperature and humidity without deformation during high-temperature processes.

    The Brain of the Plant: Full Digitalization and Intelligent Control

    At the heart of the operation, XGEN Robot’s WMS (Warehouse Management System) and WCS (Warehouse Control System) seamlessly connect with the customer’s (host) software, enabling real-time information sharing and rapid interaction across all production stages.

    Now, with just a few clicks on a centralized control interface, a single operator can trigger the entire plant’s logistics operation — saving significant time and labor.

    The Core Hub: High-Bay ASRS and Smart Warehouse

    The project features an integrated rack-building structure, vertical lifting units, direct and circular shuttles, and an underground corridor system — helping the customer build a smart warehouse with over 19,000 storage slots.

    The transition from traditional ground stacking to high-bay rack storage has multiplied storage density per square meter.

    Under the control of the logistics system, aluminum coils now go through automatic scanning, binding, and transport at the warehouse front, achieving fully automated inbound and outbound flows.

    The smart warehouse has completely replaced the old “people-looking-for-goods” model, freeing up a significant amount of manual labor while dramatically improving docking accuracy and operational efficiency.
